Can I ...?

USE MOTION DETECTORS IF I HAVE A CAT ?
Recent improvements  led to the development of "Pet-immune" or "Pet-friendly" motion detectors. These detectors will actually ignore up to an 80lb dog or five cats!

CAN I BE NOTIFIED WHEN MY SYSTEM IS ARMED OR DISARMED?
You can receive Opening / Closing reports on a monthly basis for an additional monitoring fee (Each time the alarm system is armed or disarmed special codes are send to the monitoring station which record the time and by whom the system was armed or disarmed).
Some systems have the ability to call a pager and notify you when a particular user arms or disarms the system, or to autoarm or autodisarm at a programmed time.

I USE THE SYSTEM WHEN I AM HOME OR GO TO BED, AT NIGHT?
Yyour system can be designed in any number of ways to accommodate your lifestyle. You can choose from several levels of protection. The "Stay" and "Instant" modes give you the freedom of arming the perimeter of your system (the doors and windows), while ignoring the interior protection (motion detectors and interior doors).
For example, when you are away from home you can have all sensors activated. When you are at home in the evening, watching TV or making dinner, you can choose to have your door and window sensors activated and your motion sensors off. System smoke detectors & panic (hold up) are always active.

GET A DISCOUNT FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY ?
Yes, Most insurance companies do offer an insurance discount. The amount of homeowner's insurance discount depends on your carrier.

How do I ... ?

CANCEL A FALSE ALARM ?
If your fire alarm goes off, and you are absolutely certain you know what caused the alarm, notify your alarm company immediately. Have your alarm company's phone number handy and your I.D. Do not call 911 to cancel an alarm call.

TEST MY ALARM SYSTEM ?
Call central station first, give your  name and ID number. Let them know you will run a test on your alarm system. Arm the system and after the entry delay time expire open entry doors , walk by motion detectors etc. Don't forget emergency codes activate from keypad. Disarm the system and call back central station to make sure all the codes are received .

Where   ... ?

IS MY SYSTEM MONITORED ?, POLICE STATION ? FIRE DEPARTMENT ?
No, the majority of security systems send their emergency signals to a Central Station. A Central Station is manned twenty-four hours a day and is the facility that monitors alarm activation;  Is the link between the protected premise and the authorities. . When an alarm is activated , the operator calls the police , advice them about the alarm and supply important information regarding precise location of entry (particular door or windows). Operator will also contact owner or other reference about the intrusion

Why doesn't ... ?

MY PHONE WORK IMMEDIATELY , AFTER AN ALARM ?
When the alarm is activated , this device automatically cuts off the phone service on the alarm line and use it for transmission of the alarm signal , releasing the line when the message is completed .

What ... ?

IS A SECURITY  "ID" CODE ?
Every person on the property reference list should have an ID (a unique number or name ) so the operator in the central station is able to confirm the identity of the person over the phone.

IS PROPERTY REFERENCE LIST ?
Every person having access to the premise (they have a key and the code to the alarm system) should be on a list of authorized persons for that address. This list is the property reference list, and should be update for the central station, every time is a change.

IF THE POWER GOES OUT IN MY STORE/HOUSE ?
Your alarm system is powered through a transformer wired into your house power. In the event of a power outage, the standby rechargeable battery in the control panel will provide power to the alarm system. While operating on back up battery the system retains all the functions just as if there was no power failure. The Central Station also receives a signal of the power failure. If the standby battery is getting weak the Central Station will receive that signal too. Now you are beginning to see just how important having a security system can be.

HAPPENS IF MY PHONE LINE IS CUT OR IS OUT OF SERVICE?
Many alarm companies fail to provide adequate information regarding phone line cuts. There are various methods to assure that your emergency information is transmitted to the Central Station in the event of an alarm. There are cellular and radio backup systems available, just to name a few. However, these systems do cost a little more to install and monitor.

IS THE DOOR CHIME MODE?
The chime mode gives you the ability to know when a door or window is opened in the disarm state. This is widely used by families with small children that need to know their whereabouts around the home. It is also great to announce company.

IS A SYSTEM "USER"
Each person using the system can be issued a four-digit code that can arm and disarm the system. The level of system you install dictates the number of users on a system. Each user code number can be changed locally through the keypad or through remote programming. The Central Station can identify who armed or disarmed the system by user.

HAPPENS IF I FORGET MY USER CODE?
Your security information is passcode protected. If you forget your user code, The installing company, can re-establish a new one.

When is ... ?

THE TIME TO UPDATE MY ALARM SYSTEM ?
If your alarm system is more than five years old, now is the time to consider upgrading or updating the equipment.

THE RIGHT TIME TO TEST MY ALARM SYSTEM ?
The alarm system in your home should be tested at least once a month, or as required by the manufacturer.

THE TIME TO REPLACE  BACK UP BATTERY ?
The backup battery in the control panel should be changed every five years, (the battery condition is monitored at the Central Station). Wireless transmitter batteries last five to seven years, and are lithium batteries that can be purchased in almost any drug store. Security Systems monitor the status of the batteries and should a battery become weak, the Central Station will notify you.
