The Dual Technology Detector Unit uses two types of
detection ie. Passive Infra Red and Microwave/Ultra Sonic. Activation will only
occur when both detectors are trigger:
-
PIR both heat and movement are detected simultaneously
-
ULTRASONIC DETECTORS operate at very high frequencies,
at a much higher pitch than the human ear can detect. When these sound waves
bounce off stationary objects, they return to the detector at the same frequency
at which they were emitted. However, if these sound waves bounce off a moving
object, they will return to the detector at a different frequency than the one
at which they were emitted. When this happens, the detector sends an alarm
signal to the controller. These detectors use the same technology that a bat
uses as it flies through the air dodging trees.
-
MICROWAVE sensors operate just like ultrasonic devices
but in the Gigahertz band of the radio frequency spectrum.

DT-900 Series Motion Sensors

The DUAL TEC® DT-900 Series provides versatile,
sturdy and reliable detection for large commercial applications.
Each model within the series has a choice of detection pattern
coverage by just twisting a screwdriver. DT-900 and DT-901 models
provide a wide angle pattern for protecting square-shaped areas.
DT-906 and DT-907 models provide a long, narrow detection pattern
for protecting aisles and corridors.
Active Infrared Anti-Masking is available on the
DT-900 and DT-906 models. When someone tries to mask the
sensor—for example, by throwing a box or tarp over it—an
active infrared circuit inside the unit sends a signal to the
control panel. A dedicated Mask Relay is used, so the sensor can
indicate there has been a masking attempt even when it is not
armed.

OPTEX
Detection Area Size Configuration -
"Microwave Area Shaping" and "Quad Zone Logic"
The Microwave Area can be easily shaped to fit the desired area and have
even sensitivity. In addition, Quad Zone Logic in the PIR provides high
tolerance to spot temperature changes and movements caused by small animals,
heating vents, moving curtains and vibrations caused by big machinery.
|

|
False Safe Technology -
Automatic Trouble Monitoring
Passive Infrared does not detect through walls and is never affected
by movement beyond these boundaries.
Microwave Watchdog Circuit (Self-checking function)
When microwave operation fails, DX-40 automatically switches to
single PIR operation in Enhanced Reliability Mode avoiding Missed
Alarms.
Anti-PIR Tamper Function (Patent Pending)
When PIR Detection fails, (something near the detector blocking the
field of view) a trouble output will generate via the * alarm output
(Selectable option with DX-40) and LED Display.
(*DX-40PLUS has separate Relay Output) |
|
The DX-40 reduces one of the biggest weak points of microwave detection,
that is the penetration of walls and unwanted detection of movement outside
the coverage area. In addition, the detection area has uniform sensitivity
which minimizes false activation's caused by spot movement in the detection
area, i.e. small animals
DX-40 is the result of Optex's advanced
research with PIR and microwave technology. Unique advancements include Patent
Pending "MICROWAVE AREA SHAPING TECHNOLOGY" and PIR technology with
New Spherical Lens to improve QUAD ZONE LOGIC in a compact housing
