: Have a DSC Power 832 system with LCD5500Z keypads. (unmonitored) Immediately after a close lightning strike the alarm went off and could not be disabled. The LCDs both read "Keybus Fault call for service". We had to cut power to stop the alarm. Can we fix this ourselves?
It is possible that the keybus was just disrupted during the lighting storm and no damage has occurred to the panel, if you power back up and it works then everything is fine, however if it continues to display keybus fault then there could be damage to the board and you will have to have the panel replaced.
